Frequently asked questions

What are QR codes?

down-arrow-icon

QR codes are scannable barcodes that instantly connect physical materials to digital content. When someone scans your QR code with their phone camera, they're taken directly to your website, landing page, or any online destination you choose.

How do I create a QR code with Rebrandly?

down-arrow-icon

Every branded link you create automatically includes a QR code. Simply create your link, then click the QR code icon next to it in your dashboard. You can also add ".qr" to the end of any Rebrandly link to view the QR code directly in your browser.

What formats can I download QR codes in?

down-arrow-icon

You can download QR codes in PNG format directly from the dashboard. For SVG format, add ".qr?type=svg" to the end of your branded link, and the file will download automatically.

Do QR codes expire?

down-arrow-icon

No. QR codes generated through Rebrandly never expire. However, you can edit the destination URL anytime without creating a new QR code, so your printed materials stay current.

Can I customize my QR codes?

down-arrow-icon

Yes. You can customize colors, add your logo or brand elements, and choose from different sizes and formats. Branded QR codes look more professional and get better scan rates than generic black-and-white codes.

Can I track QR code scans?

down-arrow-icon

Yes. Every QR code scan is tracked with detailed analytics including scan volume, timing patterns, device types, geographic location, and post-scan behavior. See exactly when, where, and how people engage with your codes.

How do I add UTM tracking to QR codes?

down-arrow-icon

Add UTM parameters to your destination URL before creating the QR code, or set workspace-level UTM parameters that apply automatically. This tracks QR code performance in Google Analytics and other platforms.

Why use branded QR codes instead of free generators?

down-arrow-icon

Branded QR codes build trust and get up to 40% higher scan rates. They connect to your custom domain, provide detailed analytics, and integrate with your broader link management strategy. Free generators offer no tracking or control.

What's the difference between static and dynamic QR codes?

down-arrow-icon

All Rebrandly QR codes are dynamic, meaning you can change the destination without reprinting the code. Static QR codes have the destination permanently embedded and can't be edited or tracked.
